Scheduling

Scheduling of PET and SPECT studies is handled through the BRB molecular imaging center

When scheduling a study be sure to include some time for study preparation and clean up. For in vivo studies an animal should be brought to the scan room at least a half hour prior to the study so that the animal can be anesthetized, positioned in the scanner, have cardiac or respiratory monitors attached, etc.  Animals must be transferred to the BRB facility prior to imaging. Note that it may take up to a week to transfer animals within Johns Hopkins, and it may take 2 weeks to have new animals ordered from off-site, so please account for the transfer time when scheduling studies. On occasion, for a given study request, the technologists may recommend an alternative date/time for the study. However, every effort will be made to ensure the studies are done as requested by the investigator, and in a timely fashion.
