JHU/JHMI SAIRP
For new PET and SPECT imaging projects at the Johns Hopkins SAIRP, it is strongly recommended that the investigator contacts the SAIRP staff to review the purpose and overall design of the study. This is important especially for investigators with little or no prior experience with animal imaging studies. The key points to discuss prior to performing any studies include the study hypothesis, which modalities are most appropriate to the task, what studies are feasible, how many studies will be required, the study design, how to fill out scheduling and study request forms, investigators responsibilities, image acquisition and data analysis. To assist investigators with their imaging projects, the SAIRP has implemented a shepherding system whereby an SAIRP member is assigned to oversee or 'shepherd' each project.
